Epoch Solutions Group Previews New Product At SSP iLLUMINATE

Epoch Solutions Group Inc. introduced their latest ground breaking mobile application solution for field design at the SSP Innovation’s very first conference, iLLUMINATE. iLUMINATE 2017, was held in Englewood Colorado, and had a variety of speakers and discussion panels with topics ranging from The Future of Industry Solutions to A Utility Network’s Survival Kit.  iLLUMINATE’s presentations and discussions were packed with valuable information, and this was a great place to showcase our new EpochField Field Design tool.

Andy Wright, Director of Product Development for Epoch Solutions Group participated in the second plenary; The Future of Industry Solutions, along-side Craig All from SCANA and Larry Young from Esri. This demonstration took the audience through modern utility workflows from system to system and start to finish.  Andy, Craig and Larry showed how this can be seamlessly achieved while sharing information between each other resulting in a highly efficient workflow. In this demonstration, Andy introduced Epoch Solutions Group’s latest addition to EpochField: Field Design.

EpochField’s field design tools allow designers to quickly and accurately create designs in the field using Windows, iOS, or Android devices.  We interface with work management systems as the source of record for design work requests.  A state of the art bi-directional synchronization framework passes work requests to the designers in the field, and completed designs back to on-premise GIS databases.  With EpochField’s tools, designers can add, remove, or replace devices and spans in their electric network.  It can be configured to allow selection of actual compatible units for design components, or users can define pertinent attribute information that will allow the tool to derive the correct compatible unit accordingly.  Redlining tools can be used to markup existing designs to reflect the actual as-built characteristics of the design components as they are installed in the field.  A suite of back-office tools allow new designs to be seamlessly integrated into a utility’s electric network.
