Project Manager

As our Project Manager, you understand that effective project management isn’t about checking boxes – it’s about ensuring that delicate balance between the needs of our internal teams and the expectations of the client. Your goal is simple…but that doesn’t mean it’s easy: build a bridge between the clients and our teams, ensuring that every project meets our benchmark for quality, and is managed to completion on time, on budget, and in alignment with the agreed upon scope of work, all while keeping the client aligned, informed, and happy. Your expert analysis and ability to work with both clients and technical teams will help ensure the success of each project. As part of our team, you’ll have the ability to work on a variety of projects, with clients of various sizes, within a fast-growing organization. Our preference is to have our team local to Denver Metro Area, however other remote work locations may be considered.

Your role will include:

  • Develop detailed project plans and manage all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Projects may vary in number, size and complexity.
  • Maintain a close customer relationship and serve as the first point of contact to the client for questions about the status of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with software consultants and technical leaders to ensure the successful implementation of our products and solutions to our clients.
  • Communicate regularly with various departments internally to ensure an integrated approach to the customer relationship and project execution; function as the voice of the customer and provide internal feedback on how we can better serve our clients.
  • Coordinate configuration changes with upstream and downstream stakeholders.
  • Develop key project metrics, preparing weekly project status reports for internal and external stakeholders, and monthly project status reports for Epoch management.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge base on our products and integrations; remain up to date on latest versions and their capabilities and surface other members of the team.
  • Perform miscellaneous project and duties as assigned.

  • A passion for the implementation process and satisfaction of working with customers/clients to meet their requirements.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, risk management, people management and change management.
  • Extensive understanding of project management processes, principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (in English), allowing for clear and succinct communication in a variety of settings (phone, in-person and email), and with people of various backgrounds and levels, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent analytical skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently, concentrating your efforts on top priorities.
  • Ability to successfully interface and build strong cross-functional relationships with all levels of internal and external partners and team members, finding common ground and solving problems for the good of all.
  • Strong customer focus, with dedication to meeting the expectations, needs and requirements of internal and external customers, successfully gaining their trust and respect to improve team performance and deliver results.
  • Strong knack for troubleshooting and quick thinking to keep the project moving forward.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Agile methods including Scrum and Kanban helpful.
  • Functional/technical knowledge of the Utility business, practices, and procedures may be preferred.
  • Position requires up to 15% travel to customer sites.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Coursework or experience defining or managing project scopes, timelines, budgets and delivery are helpful.
  • Minimum four years of experience managing software or technology projects.
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale projects simultaneously, (projects between $500K-$1M) that involve both web and mobile technology.
  • Preferred: PMP certification, GIS project experience, and Esri or Smallworld experience.
  • Understanding of Mobile technology is a plus, and experience working in the technology or IT industry helpful.

Salary Range:

$70,000 – $150,000
