What’s New in EpochField 5.3

We’re pleased to announce the release of EpochField 5.3. This latest release introduces enhancements focused on scheduling and dispatching efficiency, mobile usability, application performance, deployment, and system administration. The release provides dispatchers with more flexible tools for managing work, improves startup and scheduling performance, and adds new capabilities that simplify the experience for both field workers and administrators.

EpochField 5.3 also includes platform updates to maintain compatibility with supported technologies, along with numerous bug fixes and quality improvements across the EpochField product suite. The following highlights some of the new features available in 5.3.

Scheduling and Dispatching Enhancements

• Improved Non-Scheduled Work Visibility: EpochField has long supported work that is independent of a scheduled date. New controls in 5.3 make it easier for dispatchers to distinguish this work from schedulable work and focus on the work most relevant to their current scheduling activities.
• Bulk Assignment Actions: Dispatchers can assign, reassign, or unassign multiple work items at once, reducing repetitive actions when making larger scheduling changes.
• Enhanced Drag-and-Drop Scheduling: Improvements to drag-and-drop interactions make common scheduling and assignment changes faster and more intuitive.
• Flexible Scheduling Workspace: A sliding panel allows dispatchers to adjust the amount of screen space dedicated to job information or the Gantt chart, depending on the task being performed.

Work Scheduler Performance Improvements

• Improved Responsiveness: Performance enhancements reduce processing time during common scheduling activities and improve responsiveness when working with larger volumes of work.
• More Efficient Dispatching: Faster interactions help dispatchers spend less time waiting for updates and more time managing field operations.

Mobile Performance and Usability

• Faster Application Startup: Improvements reduce the time required to initially launch EpochField Mobile, with the amount of improvement varying by operating system.
• Dark Mode Support: Field workers can use EpochField Mobile in Dark Mode for improved viewing in low-light conditions and better alignment with device display preferences.
• Copy Asset Attributes: Asset attribute values can be copied directly to the device clipboard, making it easier to reuse information in other applications, messages, forms, or workflows.

Simplified Mobile Configuration

• Quick URL Setup: EpochField configuration information can be provided through a URL that users can open directly or access through a QR code.
• Easier Deployment: Reduces the amount of configuration information that users or administrators need to enter manually when setting up the application.

Inbound Queue Administration

• Improved Integration Visibility: Administrators can view inbound integration messages as they are processed by EpochField.
• Message Management: Administrators can reprocess or delete inbound messages when necessary, providing additional tools for resolving integration processing issues.

Platform Updates and Reliability

• Technology Updates: Platform and dependency updates keep EpochField aligned with supported technologies and provide a strong foundation for future product development.
